New Hampshire GOP Activist Dead After Home-Stabbing
On Saturday morning in New Hampshire, a longtime Granite State GOP activist and attorney named Alex Talcott was fatally stabbed in his Durham home. Police are now searching for answers and clues as to what happened.
No arrests have been made and police have ruled the killing a homicide, but authorities are trying to determine if the individual who stabbed Talcott was acting in self-defense. His political colleagues issued condolences and high praise for their departed friend.
“[Talcott’s] unwavering belief in liberty, free markets, and limited government resonated deeply in his role as a lawyer,” William O’Brien, the state director of the New Hampshire chapter of the Republican National Lawyers Association said.
“Within the RNLA, his leadership was unwavering in promoting our shared values, ensuring every member felt empowered and well-prepared,” “Alex was an exceptionally skilled champion for the rule of law and the importance of fair and honest elections. We will forever honor Alex’s selfless dedication and profound contributions to our shared vision of liberty through legal processes,” O’Brien said. “His legacy will undoubtedly inspire future generations within the RNLA and the greater legal community.”
So far, authorities have not released the names of any potential suspects, nor provided details as to what might have happened leading up to the stabbing.
In reaction to the news, former New Hampshire congressional candidate and Trump administration appointee Matt Mowers said, “Incredibly sad news. Alex and I were just talking the other day. He was the kind of friend who was there for you in the tough times as well as the good times. Will keep him and his entire family in our prayers.”
Talcott was 41 years old.
