Ohio Pro-Life Org Ousts Comms Director After Viral Christian Social Media Exchange

Ohio Right to Life has fired Elizabeth Marbach, the organization’s communications director, following a viral exchange on X with Congressman Max Miller (R-OH), whose wife is a Member Trustee at the pro-life organization, according to The Sentinel.

On Tuesday, Marbach posted to X: “There’s no hope for any of us outside of having faith in Jesus Christ alone.”

Miller reposted Marbach’s message, stating: “This is one of the most bigoted tweets I have ever seen. Delete it, Lizzie. Religious freedom in the United States applies to every religion. You have gone too far.”

Marbach then reposted Miller, writing that “these are the words of Jesus himself,” further quoting scripture.

Following further exchange, as well as backlash from numerous people, Miller offered an apology, saying his tweet “conveyed a message” that he “did not intend,” adding, “I sincerely apologize to Lizzie and to everyone who read my post.”

Congressman Miller’s wife, Emily Moreno Miller, is a Member Trustee at Ohio Right to Life. According to The Sentinel, Marbach was provided the option to resign or “receive a transition period,” but reportedly declined.

The Sentinel also notes, however, that Marbach’s dismissal follows not only her viral interaction with Congressman Miller, but a post on X in which she called abortion activist Rachel Coyle a “murderous liar,” which reportedly troubled a senior Ohio Right to Life employee.

Ohio Right to Life CEO Peter Range issued a statement on X regarding Marbach’s ouster on Thursday evening.

“Ohio Right to Life can confirm that Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Marbach is no longer employed at Ohio Right to Life,” Range said in a statement attributed to the pro-life organization. “This decision was not based on any single event as some on social media claim. We appreciate Lizzie’s service and wish her the best in future endeavors.”

Speaking with The Sentinel, Marbach said she prays that Ohio Right to Life doesn’t allow “politics” to distract the organization from “abolishing abortion.”
