‘Comer Should Send Him A Pair Of Pants’: Fetterman Mocked For Giving Comer An Impeachment Day Gift

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) attempted to troll House Republicans, led by Rep. James Comer (R-KY), with an impeachment day gift as they began the first hearing into the actions of President Joe Biden — and his critics had a field day.

Fetterman shared a photo via X announcing that he had sent a case of Bud Light to Comer and his “squad” as they began on Thursday morning.

This morning, I directed my staff to deliver a gift to congratulate and salute Representative Comer and his Team America [TM] squad as they embark on their historic impeachment journey,” Fetterman captioned the photo.

A paper taped to the box read: “To Rep. Comer and his squad. A profile in courage can make a guy thirsty. Congratulations, this Bud’s for you. Hugs & Kisses, John Fetterman.”

But the Pennsylvania senator’s gift — though clearly meant as a joke — sparked a wave of responses from his critics.

My dude. No. You’re from Pennsylvania. You buy @yuenglingbeer,” Brian Doherty chastised Fetterman for going with Bud Light over a brew made in his home state.

Another response — referencing Fetterman’s apparent difficulty in coming to work wearing anything other than hoodies and gym shorts — offered a suggestion to Comer in case he wanted to give a gift in return: “Comer should send him a pair of pants.”

“American politics devolving right before our very eyes. They all need to grow up and go to work,” Mark Zinno added.

“Solidarity with AB’s marketing department,” The Washington Free Beacon’s Joe Simonson posted.

NewsNation reporter Zaid Jilani added, “Increasingly it feels like people [on] both sides are joining politics to become influencers.”

Fetterman has been in the news quite a bit in recent days. First, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) relaxed the Senate’s dress code — ostensibly to accommodate the Pennsylvania Senator’s fashion tastes — only to have the Senate vote against a relaxed dress code. And then, when Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was slapped with indictments on federal bribery charges, Fetterman was the first fellow Democrat to call for his resignation.
