Elon Musk Thinks Trump’s ‘A Con Man,’ Biden ‘Boring As Hell,’ New Musk Bio Says

X owner Elon Musk has been critical of both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, according to a new biography from Walter Isaacson.

In the book, titled “Elon Musk,” Musk said that he met with Trump in December 2016 and thought that he seemed “kind of nuts,” though he “may turn out okay.” However, he later concluded that Trump’s presidency was not much different from his candidacy and that it was effectively a circus.

“Trump might be one of the best bullsh***ers ever,” Musk told Isaacson. “If you just think of Trump as a sort of con-man performance, then his behavior sort of makes sense.”

Isaacson said that after Trump left office he still harbored a “deep disdain” for him and continued to view him as “a con man.”

However, Musk is no fan of Biden, either, having repeatedly taken shots at the 80-year-old president on his social media platform, including recently saying that he could “audition for role of Crypt Keeper – no makeup or special effects needed!”

“When he was vice president, I went to a lunch with him in San Francisco where he droned on for an hour and was boring as hell, like one of those dolls where you pull the string and it just says the same mindless phrases over and over,” Musk told Isaacson.

Musk’s alleged remarks about the two presidential frontrunners echo the views expressed by some Americans in recent polling on the candidates. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research asked voters to select a series of statements that they believe best described Trump and Biden and found that 23% described the former with words like “corrupt,” “con artist,” or “dishonest,” while about 41% associated the latter with words like “old,” “elderly,” and “confused.”

While both candidates have their critics, they both maintain healthy support among their respective bases in terms of the 2024 election. Both candidates currently hold a strong lead in the national polls over their challengers, with Trump enjoying around a 40 percentage point advantage over second-place Republican candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to RCP’s averages, while Biden holds a more than 50 percentage point advantage over second-place Democrat Robert Kennedy Jr.
