Thousands Of Parents In Mexico Torch Education Materials Featuring ‘Marxist-Communist’ Indoctrination: Report
Thousands of parents in Mexico took to the streets last week to burn education materials that featured “Marxist-communist” indoctrination from the country’s department of education.
The Financial Times reported that one of the officials behind the push to indoctrinate children in Mexico was “a former Venezuelan government official.”
The books were woke, filled with “hard-to-follow material full of errors, a lack of basic language and mathematical exercises and irrelevant or highly age-inappropriate content.”
The books were so controversial that some governors in the country have refused to distribute them as they demonize capitalism and neoliberalism.
Fox News reported that at least 12,000 parents in southern Mexico attended the protest where the Marxist books were burned.
So far, more than 112,000 parent signatures have been submitted demanding that the government stop distributing the books.
The material has faced backlash even in Mexican news media.
“Mexico is at risk from a virus that people thought was eradicated — the communist virus,” Mexican news anchor Javier Alatorre said in front of a backdrop of a hammer and sickle with the country’s education officials. “They want to condemn Mexico to poverty, mediocrity, and hatred.”
