Tony Gonzales Slams Biden Extending TPS For 500,000 Venezuelan Migrants: He’s ‘Encouraged’ Illegal Migrants To Come
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) slammed President Joe Biden over the weekend for the worsening crisis on the U.S. southern border as tens of thousands of illegal aliens are flooding communities every few days in an unprecedented onslaught.
Gonzales made the remarks during a Sunday interview with Margaret Brennan on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” while discussing how federal immigration officials have been completely overwhelmed by Biden’s border crisis.
“Right now, Border Patrol agents are showing up to operate in processing centers,” Gonzales said. “They’re not out in the field, so they’re not really doing their jobs. And they haven’t been doing their jobs.”
When asked what he meant by his remarks, he said that numerous agents have told him that they are forced to handle the processing of illegal aliens instead of being out on the border stopping drugs, criminals, weapons, and terrorists from coming into the U.S.
“It’s the failed Biden administration,” Gonzales said. “You know, when we talk about the border crisis, we know what the problem is. The problem is Joe Biden’s failed immigration policies. We see the images. We hear the stories, but we never hear solutions. Let’s talk some solutions.”
Gonzales said that what Biden was doing with extending the Temporary Protected Status of the 500,000 Venezuelan migrants in the U.S. was “encouraging” even more migrants to come to the U.S. illegally.
“These people have come over illegally into our country, and you’re giving them the access to work,” he said. “It undermines everything that we’re doing in Congress to try to come together.
