Biden Touts Abortion Access, Mocks Trump Bible: Dobbs Decision ‘Was No Miracle’
President Joe Biden mocked former President Donald Trump’s “God Bless the USA” Bible while touting his administration’s support for abortion access on Tuesday.
Biden was campaigning in Tampa, Florida, where he railed against the state’s recently enacted six-week abortion ban — which he said was only enacted because Trump had appointed three of the Supreme Court justices who ultimately voted to overturn the 1973 landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade.

“Trump bragged how proud he was to get rid of Roe v. Wade over it — he took credit for it. He said there has to be ‘punishment’ for women exercising their reproductive freedom,” Biden said, and when the audience began to boo, he added, “His words, not mine.”
“He described the Dobbs decision as a ‘miracle.’ Maybe it’s coming from that Bible he’s trying to sell,” Biden continued, prompting laughter from the crowd. “Whoa. I almost wanted to buy one just to see what the hell is in it.”
“Folks, it was no miracle. It was a political deal to get rid of Roe v. — a deal,” Biden said. “A political deal he made with the Evangelical base of the Republican Party to look past his moral char- — if they looked past his moral and character flaws in exchange for his commitment to appoint justices of the Supreme Court who would overturn Roe.”
Biden went on to insist that whether Trump admitted it or not, he was “making the deal right now with MAGA extremists” to enact a nationwide abortion ban. Trump, despite liberal claims to the contrary, has said that he does not support a nationwide ban and would leave abortion regulations up to the individual states.
During another Florida appearance — while another speaker complained about the six-week abortion ban — Biden inexplicably made the sign of the cross.
The Bible that Biden mentioned, which is being advertised by country singer Lee Greenwood and the former president, is a reprinted King James Version that also contains the chorus of Greenwood’s iconic song “God Bless the U.S.A.” along with the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
