Fetterman Blasts Biden For ‘Not Standing Firmly With Israel’: ‘I Don’t Agree With The President’
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) slammed President Joe Biden over the weekend for “not standing firmly with Israel” after Iran launched an unprecedented attack on the country on Saturday.
Fetterman made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CNN while discussing the 185 one-way suicide drones, 110 surface-to-surface missiles, and 36 cruise missiles that Iran directed at Israel.
He said that it was “astonishing that we are not standing firmly with Israel, and there should never be any kinds of conditions and all that.”
“When a nation can launch hundreds of drones towards Israel, I’m not going to be talking about conditions — ever,” he said, later adding that he supported Israel killing the Iranian general in Syria a couple of weeks ago.
President Biden reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday that the United States would not support an Israeli counterattack against Iran.
“I don’t agree with that,” Fetterman said.
“And I just think we should follow and have Israel’s back in this situation,” he added. “I don’t agree with the president.”
Fetterman said that he would “never capitulate to the fringe” — meaning the far-Left of the Democratic Party. “I will never pander to that as well. In fact, that helps, that empowers Hamas. And Hamas is actually convinced that they are winning the PR war, and they’re never going to negotiate at this point.”
“They think they’re going to hold on to the very end,” he continued. “And I know why they’re not willing to provide any kind of proof of life. And I don’t know why there’s not more of that conversation in the media. Like, what about the hostages? What’s happened to them? Where are they now? And let’s just bring them home.”
