Kamala Harris Blames Vice Presidency As Reason She’s Cursing More

Vice President Kamala Harris admitted she’s picked up a bad habit since taking office in 2021 — she’s been cursing more than she ever has before.

During a wide-ranging interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the reporter asked Harris what is something that she’s done differently since being sworn in as President Joe Biden’s second-in-command — and she mentioned when the VP recently dropped an F-bomb during a live-streamed White House event.

“I had to! I had to!” Harris told the reporter, after telling the WH group sometimes “you need to kick that f***ing door down,” when it comes to opportunities.

“What have I done differently since I’ve been in this office? I curse more! “ she added while laughing. “Although, kind of. I don’t know. It’s not a new language to me, and I think when one speaks the language, one should get the pronunciation down. My pronunciation is very good, thank you very much!”

“So approaching my work — always challenging traditions, not accepting status quo, knowing what’s possible, even if it hasn’t been done before — I also know how difficult it can be to propose, and require, new approaches,” the VP continued. “When people hear “status quo,” they think, “Oh, static.” But let me tell you — and it’s a learned experience for me — status quo is anything but static. Status quo is quite dynamic. You start trying to change status quo, you fuck with status quo, it will fight you.”

During the same RS interviewHarris was asked about an abortion case in front of the Supreme Court and the reporter quoted Harris as saying, at the time, “’It’s f***ed up.”

In May, Harris let an F-bomb slip during the WH event and immediately asked the audience to “excuse” her language.

Harris made the comment during a conversation with comedian Jimmy O. Yang (“Crazy Rich Asians”) — during the annual Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies Legislative Leadership Summit — about how minorities needed to stand up for themselves.

During the event – which is a part of the White House’s efforts to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month — Yang began with a question about Harris’ experience as the first woman to be elected to the vice presidency.

“We have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open,” the vice president said, noting that some opportunities were easier to come by than others — and suggesting that sometimes it was necessary for people to make their own opportunities.

“Sometimes they won’t, and then you need to kick that f***ing door down,” she said, adding, “Excuse my language.”
