Trump Says ‘There Is A Big Gap’ For Biden ‘To Make Up’ Following Debate: ‘Mind And Memory Completely Shot’

Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social late Monday night to comment on his debate against President Joe Biden, saying Biden’s disastrous performance has put “a BIG GAP” between the two candidates.

Trump also highlighted the president’s mental struggles, which were evident throughout the debate, an issue for Biden that led to commentators from legacy media outlets and other pundits calling on him to drop out of the race. Trump was widely viewed as the winner of Thursday night’s CNN debate in Atlanta as much of the post-debate discussion focused on questions surrounding Biden’s fitness.

“Biden’s Debate performance was rated poor, with an arrow pointing left. That means it was Less than Poor,” Trump wrote. “Mine was rated, ‘the best in the history of Presidential Debates.’ In other words, there is a BIG GAP for Crooked Joe to make up, and with his mind and memory completely shot, and marbles in his mouth, it’s not going to happen!”

Biden discussed the future of his re-election campaign with his family at Camp David on Sunday, and family members urged him to stay in the race, sources told The New York Times. According to reports, Biden’s wife, Jill, and his son Hunter, who was recently convicted of gun crimes, ardently pushed the president to stay in the race.

Democratic leaders in Congress and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton also continued to back Biden’s re-election bid following the debate despite post-debate polling showing that 72% of registered voters do not believe Biden has the mental and cognitive health to serve as commander-in-chief.

During the debate, Trump alluded to Biden’s apparent mental struggles in response to the president attempting to answer a question on border policy.

“I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence; I don’t think he knows what he said either,” Trump said.

As questions continued to swirl about his health, Biden addressed the nation from the White House on Monday to comment on the Supreme Court’s decision on Trump’s immunity from prosecution for official acts as president. The president spoke from a teleprompter, giving a four-minute address, and did not take any questions from reporters.
