Trump Responds To Kamala’s DNC Speech: ‘Complaining About Everything But Doing Nothing!’

 Former President Donald Trump reacted in real-time to Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night, saying that Harris has “done nothing for three and a half years but talk.”

Harris formerly accepted her party’s nomination at the end of the four-day convention in Chicago and spoke for a little under 40 minutes in an address that focused on slamming Trump. Trump reacted to the speech by firing off numerous posts on Truth Social.

“She’s done nothing for three and a half years but talk, and that’s what she’s doing tonight, she’s complaining about everything but doing nothing!” Trump wrote in one post. “She should leave the Speech right now, go to Washington, D.C., close the Border, allow fracking in Pennsylvania and other places, and start doing the things she’s complaining about aren’t done!”

“The Tyrants are laughing at her, she’s weak and ineffective, and for three and a half years she has done nothing except enabled them to get STRONG, RICH, and POWERFUL!” he added.

 

Trump was especially incensed by Harris’ claims about the southern border and illegal immigration.

“Let me be clear, after decades in law enforcement, I know the importance of safety and security, especially at our border,” Harris saidduring her speech. “Last year, Joe and I brought together Democrats and conservative Republicans to write the strongest border bill in decades. The border patrol endorsed it. But Donald Trump believes a border deal would hurt his campaign, so he ordered his allies in Congress to kill the deal.”

The Republican nominee responded to Harris’ attack, writing, “The Border Bill is one of the worst ever written, would have allowed millions of people into our Country, and it’s only a political ploy by her! It legalizes Illegal Immigration, and is a TOTAL DISASTER, WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE! She doesn’t need a Bill. As President, Crooked Joe and her could have just said, ‘CLOSE THE BORDER!’ like I did – I didn’t have a Bill, I didn’t need a Bill. The Border Patrol respected me, they did their job. We had the Safest Border in Recorded History!”

The vice president also touted her pro-abortion stance and claimed that Trump wants to “limit access to birth control, ban medication abortion, and enact a nationwide abortion ban, with or without Congress.”

Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to leave the issue of abortion up to the states. The former president responded to Harris’ comments on abortion, accusing her of lying about his stance on the issue.

 

“Everybody, Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, and Conservatives, wanted Roe v. Wade TERMINATED, and brought back to the States. Like Ronald Reagan and myself, most believe in EXCEPTIONS,” Trump said. “Now the people are voting, which is the way it was supposed to be. I do not limit access to birth control or I.V.F. – THAT IS A LIE, these are all false stories that she’s making up, that I’ve never even heard of. It’s just words coming out of her mouth.”

Trump then said that Harris skipped over numerous important issues in her speech.

“She didn’t mention China, she didn’t mention fracking, she didn’t mention Energy, she didn’t mention, meaningfully, Russia and Ukraine, she didn’t mention the big subjects of the day, that are destroying our Country,” he wrote. “There are 60 million people in poverty in the U.S., under their watch, and she doesn’t even talk about them!”

Harris mentioned China once during her speech in reference to global economic competition and accused Trump of “encourage[ing]” Russia to invade Ukraine. She never discussed energy or inflation, two major issues for many voters in the 2024 race.
