‘Buffering On A Slow Wi-Fi Connection’: Reactions To Tim Walz Are In, And They’re … Not Good
On Tuesday evening, the 2024 vice presidential hopefuls — Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and Senator JD Vance (R-OH) — squared off at CBS News headquarters in New York, and the critics came out in force to comment on Walz’s apparent discomfort.
Saagar Enjeti explained that Walz’s obvious nervousness was likely due at least in part to the fact that he has been hiding from media since he was selected to be Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.
“15 minutes in and its clear that Walz not doing interviews was a big mistake: He’s nervous and JD is comfortable because he’s been in doing an adversarial interview a day since he was picked,” he said.
“Walz frequently freezes like he’s buffering on a slow WiFi connection,” CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings observed.
“Tim Walz wandered into the wrong bar tonight, folks,” he added.
“I’ll say this for Walz, he has perfected a look of sheer terror and complete bafflement all at the same time,” Jennings concluded.
“Walz is so uncomfortable it’s hard to watch,” Meghan McCain commented.
“Tim Walz looks like a deer in the headlights,” Libs of TikTok posted.
“Vance has two standard deviations in IQ on Walz,” Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro added.
“Vance gives a tremendous answer on illegal immigration. Walz looks as though he’s been detained by a police officer for shoplifting,” he continued.
“Tim Walz is asked why he lied about his trip to China, gives the most cringe-inducing answer of debate season. Seriously watch this unmitigated disaster,” Clay Travis posted.
“Moderator: ‘Tim Walz, you have been lying’; Tim Walz: ‘I grew up in a small town and rode my bike’; Lmao bro is completely broken,” Comfortably Smug said.

“Walz nervous. Unsteady. JD — absolutely perfect first answer,” Megyn Kelly posted.
“Walz as VP might be even worse than Kamala as VP. Wow. Quite the achievement,” Riley Gaines said.
“Tim Walz walking out to the debate stage,” Stephen Miller posted, sharing a video clip from the movie “Men in Black.”
And it got even worse after that. Betting site Polymarket gave Walz a 66% chance of winning the debate as the two candidates walked out onto the stage — but within minutes, he had “cratered to 38%.”
