PR Newswire Won’t Run Press Release For Project Exposing Trans Surgeries
The nation’s leading press release distributor refused to send out a bulletin from a medical nonprofit announcing a new database that tracks child sex change procedures.
PR Newswire on Tuesday refused to send out a release from Do No Harm announcing the launch of its Stop the Harm database, which uses insurance data to document the number of sex change interventions performed on children across the country. The analysis reveals that a minimum of 13,994 children underwent sex changes from 2019 to 2023, as The Daily Wire reported this week. The total figure, however, could be much higher, as the analysis relies on available insurance data and could not account for certain providers.
The wire service told Do No Harm that its release was “not suitable for distribution,” claiming it was “sensationalist and makes unsubstantiated claims.” Pressed by Do No Harm to change its decision, PR Newswire doubled down.
“It has been determined that the original refusal still stands,” the group said. “We will not be able to move forward with this release, and no changes would make it permissible.”
PR Newswire’s refusal to publicize Do No Harm’s release comes after powerful companies have censored detransitioners who’ve spoken out about the dangers of sex change interventions. YouTube censored the story of one young woman who underwent an irreversible surgery, and detransitioners were recently kicked out of an American Academy of Pediatrics Conference.
Do No Harm Executive Director Kristina Rasmussen told The Daily Wire that PR Newswire’s decision is rooted in bias.
“It is incredibly disappointing that PR Newswire would censor our database that analyzes thousands of data points using a methodology reviewed and supported by medical experts,” Rasmussen said. “Their subjectivity and obstinance in the face of truth betrays their ideological bias.”
While PR Newswire refused to publicize Do No Harm’s press release, the company has repeatedly distributed press releases from far-left, pro-transgender organizations. That includes a release from the KinkD App, which describes itself as “a leading kinky dating app for the BDSM & fetish community.”
On another occasion, PR Newswire distributed a release from the Trevor Project insinuating that laws protecting children from medical sex change interventions could drive kids to suicide.
“With such striking numbers and families literally wanting to uproot their homes to seek safety, lawmakers must seriously reconsider the real and damaging impact that their anti-LGBTQ+ policies and rhetoric create,” the release read. “No ‘political victory’ should be worth risking the lives of young people.”
The company has also spread press releases from far-left organizations that promote child transgenderism, including the Human Rights Campaign and GLAAD.
“Corporate America has become too comfortable in their complicity with the nationwide pseudoscience experiment being performed on innocent children who will never be the same,” Rasmussen said.
